Simplicity is often the key to choosing an appropriate website design. The more simplified the layout is, the easier it is to navigate through. Don’t stuff your site with graphics or ads (unless they are relevant to your site content) as they can be very disturbing to your visitor’s eyes and take their attention away from your product.
When it comes to colors, choose those that coordinate well with each other. If you are operating a business website, your design should have a business feel to it - it should not be vulgar or bold.
